“టాకో” ఆధ్వర్యంలో గణతంత్ర వేడుకలు


Telugu Association Of Central Ohio (TACO), a non-profit organization, organized Sankranthi Sambaralu and Republic day celebrations on January 26th 2019 at the Westerville North High School in Westerville Ohio. The event started at 1:00 PM local time and completed at 9:15 PM local time with approximately 300 participants who performed a variety of programs such as Classical dances, Mass Movie dances, Comedy skits, Dubsmash Contest, Republic day dance, Movie song Singing, Fashion show, Art gallery etc..
Ohio State House representative Mr. Niraj Antani attended the event as a chief guest and participated in the Republic day celebrations.
TACO 2019 Executive Committee President Phani Bhushan Potluri thanked all the volunteers, sponsors and participants for their hard work and support towards the organization and making the event a grand success. TACO 2019 cultural team lead by Veena Kamisetty worked very hard to design a variety of quality and entertaining programs with a lot of local talented participants and made sure the programs were started and completed on time. Sankranthi festival theme song presented by the TACO cultural team showed the values of “Ummadi Kutumbam” (Joint Family) and the prominence of the Sankranthi festival.
Butterfly Event Planners lead by Sandhya Kanaka, decorated the entire venue with traditional and contemporary decoration styles and was one of the many highlights of the event.
Food committee lead by Shyam Gadde worked with Haveli Bistro, a local restaurant, and served delicious food to the guests with a wide variety of authentic south Indian food items. Over 200 volunteers and committee members helped throughout the day and were part of this successful event.
tACO charity coordinators SriVarshini Mudhuluru and Subhashini Sadanala organized multiple charity drives at the event. A food drive in collaboration with North America Telugu Society (NATS) benefiting the Mid Ohio Food Bank, A Winter Coat drive benefiting Homeless shelter Needs Faith Mission. TACO also worked with a group of local volunteers who setup a food stall at the event benefiting Ekam Foundation.
President of the Organization Phani Bhushan Potluri and Vice President of Administration Srinivas Paruchuri introduced 2020 President Elect Jagannath Chalasani to the community. 2019 Executive committee recognized the 2018 Executive committee, 2018 outgoing trustees & working committees for their hard work and dedication towards the organization and also introduced the new trustees (2019 & 2020) and working committees (2019, 2020 & 2021).
