ATA-ICON Celebrates International Womens Day in Nashville

American Telugu Association (ATA) and Indian Community of Nashville (ICON) conducted International Women’s Day third time in Nashville, TN on March 9 th, 2019 at Vanderbilt University.

This wonderful event organized by Nashville Women’s by 15-member Women’s Committee lead by Radhika Reddy, Lavanya Reddy, Bindu Madhavi, Sirisha Kesa (ATA Women’s Coordinator) and many other women.

ATA Board of Trustees Jayanth Challa, Anil Bodireddy & Ramakrishna Reddy Ala and ATA Emergency services Chair Shiva Ramadugu attended this event. Also, ATA representatives from Nashville Susheel Chanda (Regional Coordinator), Srihan Nookala (Youth coordinator), Narender Reddy Nookala (Community Services Chair), Kishore Reddy Guduru (Education chair) attended this event.

Kavitha Challa, President, Telangana Development Forum (TDF) was the special guest for the event. More than 450 women from diversified Indian and Non-Indian communities from Nashville attended this event. Excellent inspirational speeches and performances by women.

Special speakers Radha Babu and Gabrielle Thompson from ‘Free for Life’ international organization shared about worldwide Human Trafficking and helping Women victims.

ATA recognized and felicitated Greeshma Binosh, Harika Kanagala Ma, Kiruthiga Vasudevan, Ms Shyamali Mukherjee, Rachana Kedia Agarwal and Dr. Arundati Ramesh (prominent women from Greater Nashville area) for their contributions towards Teaching Indian Regional languages and Community services.

It was a house full event with 100 performers and diversified cultural programs, lots of entertainment, DJ beats, shopping Mela and spicy Indian food from Bawarchi Biryani point, Nashville.
